A podcast about death.
Sounds grim. It's surprisingly rare.
The podcast about life, death, and everything in between
Death is part of life. Yet we talk about it surprisingly rarely.
In "Pakt mit dem Tod", we do exactly that: openly, honestly, sometimes thoughtfully, and often with a healthy dose of black humor. We talk about funerals, saying goodbye, grief, preplanning, unusual burial methods, and all the questions that concern many people – but that hardly anyone voices aloud.
No gloomy mood. No industry jargon. No fear of touching the subject.
Instead, real conversations, honest insights, and the realization that you can talk about death without losing your zest for life.
Who is actually speaking here?
Behind the microphone are people who deal with death, saying goodbye, and grief every day – and yet enjoy a good laugh quite a bit. Sascha, Jenni, and rotating guests talk about experiences from everyday funeral work, personal thoughts, and topics that are otherwise often repressed.
Sometimes informative.
Sometimes personal.
Sometimes completely absurd.
But always honest.
What is it about?
We have no taboo topics. We talk about, among other things:
- How much does a funeral actually cost?
- How does a funeral preplanning meeting work?
- What unusual burial methods are there?
- How does working with death change your perspective on life?
- What happens behind the scenes at a funeral home?
- Is it okay to laugh about death?
The clear answer to the last question: Yes. Sometimes you have to.
Example–Episode
Episode 64 · Looking Away Less · 28 min.
In this episode, it gets personal: this time Jenni speaks entirely alone – about how her perspective on death has changed since she became part of the funeral industry. An honest episode about distance and closeness, new perspectives, and why death only becomes tangible for many when you start really looking.
A new episode every two weeks – wherever podcasts are available.

The best episodes are not created at a desk. They are created because someone asks a question that no one else asks – or tells a story that no one else hears.

- Honest feedback, even if it's uncomfortable
Don't worry: nothing will end up in an episode without being asked. If your story is to be included, we'll talk beforehand.

Because talking about death doesn't bring anyone to their grave any sooner. But maybe it helps you live life a little more consciously.
